The £3.7 million refurbishment of Broadmeadow Sports Centre will start on Monday 16th September 2024. This means the centre will temporarily close at 1 pm on Sunday 15th September 2024 for around nine months while the refurbishment works can take place. During this period we have made alternative arrangements for you to continue working out with us!
Here is what you can expect when we reopen:

Relocated entrance to the car park side, to make it more accessible.

Extended both the studios upstairs and installed a new studio downstairs.

An extension to the gym areas including new equipment.

Sauna and one Squash court will remain.

The sports hall will be reduced to a standard full-size 4-court sports hall to accommodate the studio and gym developments.

Changing facilities will be refurbished retaining the single-sex provision and a village changing area is being introduced.

Decarbonisation works include the installation of air source heat pumps, improved air handling and circulation and improvements to the building fabric to enhance thermo-regulation of the facility.
We hope these changes will enhance your experience and improve the working environment for our staff.
What does this mean for you and your routine?
Once the centre closes on Sunday 15th September we will operate the gym from a refurbished unit just down the road on the same industrial estate from Monday 16th September (See image below). Group Exercise Classes will be offered at the Richard Newton Hall and the Unit in Teignmouth and other classes will be relocated to Dawlish and Newton Abbot Leisure Centres.

We understand the disruption to your routine during these refurbishment works. That's why we are doing everything possible to arrange alternative options for you. We hope you continue as normal with our temporary facilities or make a short trip to one of our sister centres, Dawlish Leisure Centre or Newton Abbot Leisure Centre and continue working out with us.

Freeze your membership

Refurbishment Plans, Alternate Venues and Drawings
We're relocating the majority of our gym equipment to Unit 9, Broadmeadow Ln, Teignmouth TQ14 9AE (c.100 metres down the road from Broadmeadow Sports Centre) so you can continue your workouts.
Customers can park as normal at Broadmeadow Sports Centre when using Unit 9.
