General Information

We will work in accordance with distancing and other such considerations, which will mean a number of changes to the way we work.  This will also mean changes for the way you visit and participate in your leisure activities with us as well. 
 
Please be patient as we return to business.  We need to return in a safe, efficient and economical way.  As demand for services grow, more activities will return to the programmes, and in turn, opening hours will extend. Our staff will do their best to assist you and ensure your visit goes well, so thanks in advance for your patience with us.

Please prebook your session online. We will not accept walk ins.

Measures you can take to help combat the spread of covid-19 and support our reopening.
 
Make sure your contact details are correct to support the governments track and trace initiative. You can do this by logging into your online account. 
 
In response to ensuring that all our customers and visitors are safe, we ask that everyone self- screens before entering the facility. This will ensure that we keep everyone safe and lessen the spread of the virus.

Do not enter if:
  • You have signs of a fever or a high temperature (Above 38c).

  • You have a persistent cough or respiratory problems.

  • You have had contact with and possible source of the virus.

Safe to enter:
  • Follow all social distancing guidelines, staff instruction and floor markings.

  • Wash your hands regularly and thoroughly with soap and water or alcohol based hand sanitisers which is provided at sanitising stations within the facility.

  • Avoid touching your face.

  • If you need to cough or sneeze use a tissue and bin straight after use.

  • Do not shake hands.

Attending an activity:
  • Please pre-book your activity online (book and pay online).

  • Timetables are only available online via our app and website. 

  • Please bring your membership card with you to check-in on arrival.

We will be following social distancing to make your visit as comfortable but enjoyable as possible. What we have in place:
 
  • One way system throughout our centres.

  • Screens will be placed around our reception areas.

  • Clear signage and directional signage.

  • All activities to be pre-booked online. Please bring your membership card with you to check-in on arrival (sessions are inclusive of time to check-in, participate and exit the facility.  Therefore, you will not get the full hour to just exercise)

  • All sessions will be booked and paid in advance, we will not be processing any cash on site. 

  • Sanitation stations located around our centres.

  • We have followed all risk management protocols for Legionella and ventilation management so we are tested and safe for reopening.

  • An enhanced cleaning regime. 

  • Please bring a pre-filled drinks bottle. Our water fountains will be unavailable. 

  • Accessing and leaving the site will follow a one way system.
  • The site will not be open for walk-in bookings.

  • Most bookings can be made in advance on our website, court bookings can be made over the phone.

  • Please arrive on site for the time of your activity, not earlier as you will be queued outside until we open.

  • Access will be permitted at the start of your session time.

There will be no showers or changing facilities when we first reopen, so please come ready for your activity.
Please note: shoes must be removed before entering the pool side. 
 
Toilets and hand washing facilities will be available. If these areas are busy, please wait outside until this area becomes safe for you to enter. 
 
Lockers will be available for valuables, but it is preferable you do not use them and leave items at home. 
 
If attending an exercise class, please take your belongings with you to the activity areas as you will be following a one way system. 
 
Please be courteous and maintain a safe social distance from staff and other users at all times.

Memberships

We care about your health & wellbeing, so we wish to accommodate requests where possible. 

Direct debit memberships (Adult Jam Packed, Jump N Pumps and Aquacize) will be reactivated from Saturday 1 August 2020. 

Freeze your membership

If you do not feel ready to return to us or unable to under the current Government guidance please email leisurememberships@teignbridge.gov.uk with the following details: 

  • Email subject: Freeze.
  • Your name.
  • Date of birth.
  • Membership card number. 

Important: Please submit your freeze request by Tuesday 28 July 2020. 

Junior Jam Packed Members will remain inactive until further notice. 

For those who wish to come swimming, you may wish to reactivate your membership. Otherwise we’ll reactive once we have the full swim school programme.

We will automatically add 4 months to the end of the annual membership. There is no need for you to contact us regarding this.

Freeze your membership

Booking an activity and accessing the centre(s)

When visiting us, please:

 

  • Pre-book your session online

  • We are not permitting walk-ins at this time. 

  • Please bring a pre-filled drinks bottle. Our water fountains will be unavailable. 

  • Keep within any marked zoned areas and do not use any equipment that has been made inaccessible.

  • Numbers will be limited to observe a safe social distance, so will vary depending on the site you are booking.

  • Please do not bring a gym towel to wipe the kit. 

  • Users must clean down all equipment they use, with the materials we provide.

  • Some repeated lines of equipment (such as banks of treadmills) will be taken out of use where they cannot be spaced appropriately.

  • We ask customers to access the equipment safely and not to use an item if another customer is using the piece nearby.  

  • Please be courteous of other users when collecting / returning equipment and maintain the social distance required.

  • Please do not share equipment. 

  • Gym inductions can be facilitated online. This is clearly explained as you register to join our centres (as a member or non-member)

  • Personal Training is available, please speak with reception for further details. 

  • Please arrive on site for the time of your activity, not earlier as you will be queued outside until we open.

​It is important you follow staff instruction at all times. 

When visiting us, please: 

 

  • Pre-book your session online (it is important you book and attend the correct lane and speed)

  • We are not permitting walk-ins at this time. 

  • Please bring a pre-filled drinks bottle. Our water fountains will be unavailable. 

  • Remove outdoor shoes before entering the pool and changing areas.  Please then carry your shoes to the exit when your session ends. 

  • Sessions will predominantly be lane swimming (wide lanes) to manage the number of swimmers in the water.

  • You must arrive ‘beach-ready’ with your costume on under suitable robes or such like and continue to observe distancing guidelines and be respectful of others. 

    • Overtaking and lane rage will not be tolerated and swimmers will be asked to leave the pool if rules are not followed. 

  • Family sessions will be available in the time-table for those in the same household to book a lane and enjoy together. The learner pool will be made available for families at set times too. 

  • Swimmers will be guided to poolside and asked to place their bag and belongings to a designated area or available locker.

  • Your pool session will include checking-in, pool time, changing after (no showers available) and leaving the facility.

  • Please arrive on site for the time of your activity, not earlier as you will be queued outside until we open.

  • The Lifeguard will blow their whistle:

    • After 45 minutes of the pool session time to give you a 5 minute warning that the pool time is ending

    • After 50 minutes, a further whistle to end the pool time.  Please leave the pool, change and exit the facility via the nominated exit.

It is important you follow staff instruction at all times.

  • Classes will be shorter than normal to allow you to check-in, set-up, exercise then clean down any equipment you’ve used before exiting the facility

  • Users must clean down all equipment they use, with the materials we provide

  • If you have your own exercise mat, please bring that along.

  • Please work from your designated floor marking.

  • Please arrive on site for the time of your activity, not earlier as you will be queued outside until we open.

Sessions are now available to book via our app. 

If you have a Junior Membership, you're currently inactive so please book as a non-member. You can use your current membership account as normal to book. 

If the email address is already being used for activity bookings by a parent, partner or sibling. You will need a separate email address on your child's account. If this is the case, please email Leisurememberships@teignbridge.gov.uk with the following details: 

  • Child's name
  • Barcode number
  • Date or Birth
  • email to be used on account. 

We're running with limited staff members and are receiving a high volume of calls. Please use the above email if you have issues booking. 

 

Squash
  • Single players only, unless a household or bubble booking.
Badminton / Short-Tennis / Pickle Ball
  • Doubles-court booking must observe household or bubble guidance.
  • Singles-court bookings can manage distancing more easily so are permitted outside household or bubble guidance.
Sports
  • Government guidance will be observed and at this moment, no other sports will be permitted in our facilities.

Most bookings can be made in advance on our website, court bookings can be made over the phone.

Facility Hire

  • Please liaise with the Leisure Centre Management at the site you may wish to book.  We will discuss your individual enquiry with you.  Please refer to our booking terms and conditions.

Family sessions are now bookable. Please call us to for session availability and booking. 

Activities will all now be booked to a particular time slot to allow you to access and leave the site safely.

Booking privileges 
  • 5 days in advance for members, 3 for non-members.
  • Non-attendance will be charged, as per our standard terms and conditions to help support fair bookings for all users.
  • Cancelling a booking must be made 4 hours prior to activity start time. 
You will need to bring your membership / ID card with you to check-in on arrival.  Our reception staff will ask you to hold your card below a scanner so we can check and confirm your session booking. When using the self swipe, please make sure your profile picture displays - this confirms your attendance. 
 
Please note: Please arrive on time for your activity. Centre doors will close once displayed activity time starts.
If an activity is full, please book on to the waiting list as this will help us understand the demand for activities and help us plan in additional sessions on our programmes. You will receive an email from us when a space is available - this is a first come basis.
