February Gym Challenges - Are you ready? 

1000 Metre Row
 
The Challenge: To Row 1000m in the fastest time.
 
The Prize: A free personal training session with any member of the gym team for the fastest male and female. 
 
The Rules: 
  • Anyone can participate
  • The challenge attempt must be witnessed by a member of the Gym Team.
  • You can have unlimited attempts.
  • Pick up a tracking card from the gym team to record your scores. 
Stepper Challenge 
 
Mount Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales, at an elevation of 1,085 metres (3,560 feet) above sea level, and the highest point in the British Isles south of the Scottish Highlands. It is located in Snowdonia National Park in Gwynedd.
 
The Challenge: Complete 7120 steps / 475 flights of stairs. 
 
The Rules / Aim: 
  •   Anyone can participate.
  •   How quickly can they complete 475 flights of stairs?
  •   Use the tracking card to monitor your performance
  •   You can have unlimited attempts.
Tailpipe Workout – Partner workout 
 
Train like top class actors, such as Gerard Butler, the cast of 300 and Henry Cavill (Superman) to help improve your cardio level fitness. Grab your workout buddy or go at it alone, try this challenge after every gym session. 
 
The Challenge:
1. Partner 1: rows 250 metres
2. Partner 2: holds 2 Dumbbells or kettlebells
3. Repeat 3 times

300 Workout  

For a Spartan-sized challenge to your daily routine, consider this your new fitness gauntlet. All exercises are done without scheduled rest between moves.

The Challenge: There are 3 levels to this workout, beginner, intermediate and the original. 

Unsure on a workout? Please speak with a member of the gym team who will be more than happy to demonstrate the full amount of reps for you. 

The “original” 300 workout

  1. Pull ups - 25 reps
  2. Barbell Deadlift with 135 lbs. - 50 reps
  3. Push ups - 50 reps
  4. 24-inch Box Jumps - 50 reps
  5. Floor Wipers - 50 reps
  6. Single-Arm Clean-and-Press with 36 lbs Kettlebell - 50 reps
  7. Pull ups - 25 reps

The intermediate 300 workout

  1. Pull ups - 25 reps
  2. Dumbbell Deadlift - 50 reps
  3. Push ups - 50 reps
  4. Bodyweight Squat Jumps - 50 reps
  5. V-Ups - 50 reps
  6. Dumbbell Push Press - 50 reps
  7. Pull ups - 25 reps

The beginner 300 workout

  1. Bodyweight Rows - 15 reps
  2. Bodyweight Squats - 25 reps
  3. Pushups - 15 reps
  4. Jumping Jacks - 50 reps
  5. Mountain Climbers - 20 reps
  6. Close Grip Pushups - 10 rep
  7. Bodyweight Rows - 15 reps

Route 66 

A cardio based challenge to compliment the Biggest Loser.

Travel the 2451 miles along the historic Route 66 from Chicago to Los Angeles by completing a number of timed cardio sessions. 

For each 15 minutes of cardio you complete, you can mark of a block on the poster in the gym.
