An opportunity to review your most effective use of the equipment, create a personalised programme to ensure you are working most efficiently towards your goals.  

Step 3 – Programme Review

A review of your initial programme providing an opportunity to measure your progress and identify areas to work on.  

Step 4 – On-going Programme Review

To identify your progress to date, set new objectives, offer new exercises and training methods, inspire, motivate and encourage your continued success.

Personal training is a great way to help you achieve your health, wellbeing and fitness goals.  Sessions are tailored to your needs and our qualified instructors will help you optimise your results through understanding exactly what you would like to achieve.  You may just be looking for a one-off session to offer you some new ideas, such as new exercises or perhaps new training methods, or you may wish to book a series of training sessions where your Personal Trainer could create you a training programme and deliver some practical sessions designed to maximise your results and motivation.

Our qualified and friendly staff are here to help you achieve your goals.  You'll start you gym journey a series of one to one sessions, and we have plenty of opportunity for you to talk with our instructors on the gym floor, or even book in for a personal training session.

Exercise Referral and Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase IV

The Teignbridge Leisure Referral Schemes are designed to help people become more active more often, and therefore experience the many health benefits that can be gained from doing so safely and effectively. You can take part in activity sessions at any Teignbridge Leisure Centres in Teignmouth, Dawlish or Newton Abbot, and also our Walk This Way walking for health scheme.

We appreciate that taking part in the scheme may seem daunting, even though your GP or other healthcare professional has referred you to us. You are welcome to bring along a friend or family member to your first appointment if you are concerned about taking on a new challenge in a new environment. Our staff will welcome you, and do their utmost to support you in achieving your goals.

Your first consultation will be a discussion about your health and medical background, and how we can use our exercise and physical activity options to meet your individual needs. We will measure your blood pressure, waist circumference, height, body composition, and respiratory peak flow. These measures are taken again at the end of the scheme and will be used to assess your progress.

You attend twelve exercise sessions over six to twelve weeks in the gym or exercise studio.  We can discuss more options for during and after your course.  Some of these may be in your local community. Once you have graduated there will be an opportunity for regular reviews to continue to support you.

The programmes are chargable but include two consultations and twelve exercise sessions.

Your GP will refer you for these sessions, once you have received your referral form please contact us at your local Teignbridge Leisure Centre.

Members benefit from a series of gym appointments as part of our great value membership.

Non-members are able to join the gym as well, on a pay per session basis with an induction fee payable.
